This lovely tourist souvenir of Paris was made of silvery metal in the 1950s. It is not made of real silver (and it has no silver marks on it) but it looks like silver, and it is very pretty. The metal has been carved in such a delicate way on one side, that it makes the bracelet look like lace. The reverse side (the side which is on your skin) is not carved, and left flat.
Five monument of Paris are represented on the bracelet.
From left to right :
- Arc de Triomphe,
- Notre Dame,
- Sacre Coeur,
- the Opera,
- and in the triangular part, the Eiffel Tower
with another part in the middle of the bracelet that represents the city's coat of arm, which is a boat (the motto of Paris is : Fluctuat Nec Mergitur, which means "tossed but not sunk". Please refer to Wikipedia)
Length of the bracelet, including the Eiffel Tower triangle : 23 cm = 9.05"
Weight (without protection and packaging) : 19 g
