Patons & Baldwins
Very nice lot of 5 vintage unused double knitting balls of wool. One might have been used a little bit as it weighs 49 g instead of 50 g min (but the difference is minor).
Primary colour: brown
Other colours: cream, with flecks of other colours (blue, red, green, yellow)
Shade n° 2372. Lot n° 65/905
They are made of 45% Acrylic, 40% Wool, and 15% Mohair.
Made in Great Britain by Patons & Baldwins Limited, Darlington.
Exact date of manufacture unknown, but it was made before 1991, as in 1991, the brand Patons & Baldwins merged with the Coats Leisure Group, of Glasgow, to become Coats Patons Crafts.
Also, there is no barcode on the balls. Barcodes appeared in the UK in 1979, so these balls of wool are estimated to be from the 1970s, or early 1980s.
Dimensions of the balls: 15 cm x 8 cm approx.
