In the old days in France, some people in towns, and people living in the countryside, did not have running water at home, or maybe just on the kitchen sink. This is why they owned large pottery or ceramics wash basins with their matching water jugs at home, which they usually placed in their bedroom. Sometimes they even had the matching soap holder, matching toothbrush holder...

These sets were mass produced in the past, but not so many of them remain nowadays. Some designs are rare.

This beautiful French Art Deco ceramics wash basin and water jug set was made in the 1920s or 1930s. It was bought in France.
You will appreciate the typical design of those days, the brand (Badonviller, Primax design) and the fact that it is, on the whole, in very good vintage condition:

- 3 (three) tiny chips on the edge of the wash basin, unless they are manufacturing defects.

- Some traces of paint on the wash basin (please see closeups) and on the jug: they are manufacturing defects.

- The top of the jug's handle shows manufacturing defects (please see 8th photo)

- The bases of the basin and the jug are well preserved but they show normal signs of age.
