Rare Art Deco French Badonviller Primax earthenware wash basin and water jug/pitcher.

This beautiful French Art Deco earthenware wash basin and water jug set was made in the 1920s or 1930s. It was bought in France. You will appreciate the typical Art Deco design of those days, the brand (Badonviller, Primax design) and the fact that it is, on the whole, in very good vintage condition.

The brand "Badonviller" takes its name from a French town situated in the East of France, not far from Germany. The town was famous in the old days for the quality of its ceramics and earthenware
products. There is now a museum of earthenware in the town.

The water jug has no chips (apart from a small one on the bottom, so totally invisible when the item is on display), no cracks and no craze (apart from one line on the top of the handle, together with discreet manufacturing defects).

The wash basin has three small chips on the edge, but although they look like chips, it seems to me that they are manufacturing defects in fact. Apart from that, no chips and no cracks, very light crazing on the bottom and very light traces of crazing (almost nothing) around the edge.

Dimensions.
