The introduction of this book says that volume one gave a "useful, no-nonsense, everyday cookery book", whereas volume two presents "food for the special occasion." However, the author points out that "only you can say what is a special occasion".
You will find excellent recipes in this book, showing how to cook special occasion soups, special occasion vegetables, special occasion poultry and game, special occasion ice-creams and cakes, etc...
Not all recipes (and there are a lot!) are illustrated by a photograph, but the explanations are so clear that you will not need any. A few foreign recipes are included, like the French "sole en goujon".
The book is in good condition. The inside is in perfect condition, and the spine has a few damages, as shown on photos.
