Every Olympic game has its offical mascot. Wenlock was the London 2012 mascott, Sam was the mascot of the 1984 Los Angeles games, Magique was for the Albertville, France, 1992 winter games...

If you want to know more about Olympic mascots and, maybe, see yours, take a look at this website, which is a fantastic source of information about all Olympic games.

In 1980, the mascot of Moscow's summer Olympic games was called Mishka (or Misha) and it was immensely popular in the USSR. It was created in 1977 by Victor Chizhnikov, a Russian children's book illustrator.

The most popular product that was sold to support the Olympic games in Moscow was the original Mishka metal badge.

Nowadays, finding one of these metal Mishka badges is becoming increasingly difficult. It has become a true collector's item. What you see here is the original metal Mishka badge. I think badges made for the international market had the mention "Made in USSR" engraved at the back, but the ones for the USSR market did not. This one does not have any mention.

It is in excellent condition.

Probably made at the end of the 1970s, maybe very early 1980.
